Lazy Saturday
Saturday, March 29, 2008 by Rob
Well today was a lazy Saturday for the most part. I played Sim City (a computer game) in the morning, and we watched a couple of games in the NCAA tournament. In the afternoon we moved the chicks from the porch to the garage. They are getting bigger and making a bigger mess, so we wanted them and their cage off the porch. It will probably still be several weeks before we introduce them into the larger pen with our hens from last year. I also let Freddie out for a bit, and the chickens. Fred scared the poo our of one of our hens as he chased her around a building. By the time I caught up to them the hen was running out of steam, and Fred was able to get a few feather out of her rear end. I saved her just in time. Fred got a stern talking too, as if he would know what I was talking about. He had that what did I do look in his eyes. The hen just found a spot and laid down for a while. She was scared and exhausted, but no worse for the ware. A little while later she was out with the others pecking away at whatever it is chickens peck at.
Later we went and got some groceries. Stopped at Uncle Wayne’s and got a bench that Hannah had wanted. When we got home I fixed one of the legs on the bench while Hannah finished cleaning the porch.
The weather was sunny today, but rather windy, which kept it kind of chili. 54F, Sunny and windy.
